Puppy Kindergarten

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So, Lulu and I had our first puppy kindergarten class last Thursday. It was a lot of fun and I believe Lulu had a lot of fun also because she was exhausted when she got home that she went to bed at 8pm! =)

There were four other dogs and this one little toy poodle was there and she was such a cutie! sooo small...Lulu was very friendly towards everydog and people. She wanted to play with everyone but some dogs were intimidated to see other dogs...

Not that I'm biased but Lulu is sooo smart...she is the best in class! haha...=)

Things are going well with Lulu. Actually much better than two weeks ago. I was a mess then. I felt like I was having a postpartum depression...not that I know exactly what that feels like but I was depressed. But things are looking up. I am able to leave the house without freaking out and able to eat more than I had been eating. Lulu and I have a schedule going on so it's making our lives much easier.

In the morning, after she has her meal, I take her out for a long walk. Then she is tired when I leave the house for few hours. I come back in the afternoon, I let her go to the bathroom and I play with her. Sometimes I take her for a walk but it's too hot so I trying to limit the walk in the afternoon to a minimum. In the evening, I give her meal and we go out for another long walk since it's cooler outside. Then we play little bit and it's time for bed. During the day, I put her in her crate so that she can take a nap. I think she misbehaves when she is tired. When she is misbehaving, I put her in her crate and she falls a sleep! =)

Summer is going well...but sometimes, I am bored. I wish I had more stuff to do...oh wait...no I don't need any more things to do...Lulu is keeping me busy. =)

As you can see from my profile picture, I got a puppy. She is a West Highland Terrier and is 14 weeks old. I thought she was 12 weeks but I counted it and she is acutually 14 weeks. First few days were very overwhelming. I broke down on Thursday. It wasn't Lulu's fault. (yes, that's her name). I felt pressured by my dad to have the puppy trained in few days. He would say things that made me feel like it was a bad idea to have a puppy.

I'm actually using dog litters to train her inside. It's working very well actually. I saw her couple of times going to the litter by herself to eliminate. I was so happy to see her do that...and it has only been few days. This is a good sign. I feel much better now that she is showing progress and I'm more patient and less pressured.

[info]amule has helped me a lot. I'm not sure where I would be without her. Now I can actually eat something. I've had a hard time eating past few days because of the stress. I lost couple pounds of weight. man, if anyone want's to lose weight...try getting a puppy! hehe =)

Introducing Lulu Kim =)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I finally got a puppy today. She is a West Highland Terrier and is 12 weeks old. [info]amule graciously agreed to come along and help me see if the puppy is a good fit or not. I'm glad I had her with me because I'm still learning about puppies. Lulu is so lovely. I love her so much. She is like a baby...when she cries because I'm not in the room, it breaks my heart.

I'm going to call the vet tomorrow and see if they can see her tomorrow. I hope they can. I want Lulu to get a clean bill of health soon so I can rest easy. She looks healthy...but I want to be sure!

I will post a picture soon.

The referee for Korea/Switzerland game sucked. It was so obvious that he was pro swiss...the other team had broken many rules but the ref didn't call on it while he called on every single ones by the Korean team. And once it seemed like he called on Koreans for something hat the Swiss did...anyways...Korea lost and not advancing to the second round...=(

Did anyone in NOVA area get some good night sleep?

I didn't...I fell asleep to the rain and woke up an hour or two later with a marathon of thunder and lightening strike. It was so loud and it didn't stop for a couple of hours, it seemed. It was hard sleeping to.

about to go to school for a little bit. later.

I had an early morning start today. I don't know why but I set my alarm clock at 7am...and stupid me, I woke up. =( I had a meeting to go to at 10am so I really didn't need to wake up that early...oh well...I made it up buy taking a nap for an hour and half in the afternoon. I can take naps now! =) hehe...

I went to Oak Marr for a camp meeting. Met all the new counselors...they are so young...all but one is fresh out from high school...gosh...good thing I decided not to go for full time...

I didn't do much today. I came home from the meeting and watched some Korean dramas and took a nap. I'm about to go to the gym but need to wait cause I just ate dinner. hmmm...let's see what I'm doing tomorrow. I need to stop by school to finish cleaning up the cafeteria...I told Edward (custodian) that I will clean up the mess that I made but forgot to do that before I left on Tuesday. So, I need to go back and finish that...then I might stop by the mall for a little bit before I head home to watch South Koreans take on Switzerland in the world cup! =) Go Korea! Oh, sometime tomorrow I need to do some research on Manicure/Pedicure places...need to do that before saturday.

alrighty...later.

I had a productive morning today. I left the house around 9am to start my errands. First stop was the County Health Dept. for TB test for my part time summer work at the camp. They asked me many questions and at the end told me that I didn't have to get tested but they will give me a document saying that I'm okay without the test. cool...it was fast and didn't have to wait. =)

Then I went to Nordstrom to get my clinique make up. I buy clinique items whenever they have the bonus. It seems like I run out of my regular clinique items whenever they have their bonus time so it works out...after nordstrom, I stopped by L.L.Bean to look around. I have their visa card and get coupons. I had a coupon for 10 dollars off so I bought a water belt for running which was around 20 bucks...then when I went to pay, the register lady said that I had another coupon for June so my total came to 48 cents. good deal! =)

After Tysons Corner, I went to Metro Walk & Run to buy me some good quality running shoes. The salesman helped me find the right pair and I was able to feel the difference right away. The new pair was so comfortable. I can't wait until I go for a run! =)

Trader Joe's was right next door, so I stopped in to buy some groceries. The cashier was from Italy and the lady in front of me was from Czech Republic. Apparently, both countries are playing against each other in the world cup tomorrow. When it was my turn, the cashier and I continued talking about the world cup. Korea played Italy at last world cup and Korea won...=) hehe.

My last stop was the Safeway and I bought much needed food for my summer vacation. =) yummmm...by the time I was finished with running errands, I was so hungry and tired. But I got things done that needed to be done. =) What a great day so far...

career day

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Today was the Career Day for sixth graders. I don't work with 6th graders this year but I had to carry out the day because the other counselor had to leave town for the week. Thank goodness it was all planned out before she left. I had a very busy day but everything went well...

at the end of the day, the sixth graders got a treat. We had a mystery guest speaker and it was....*drum rolls*...Mark Brunell, the QB from the Redskins. Well...I could care less because I had no idea who he was until someone told me who he was...=)

He is tall and handsome. Too bad he is married with four kids. =)~

He seemed very down to earth...and had some good things to say. But looking back I'm not so sure why we made it such a big deal. He is just a football player after all...I mean, we had a Iraq Veteran speak before him and we didn't make such a big deal...

Anyways...everything went well and the sixth graders were surprisingly well behaved...they usually are not...all the teachers and parents were shocked to see them so well behaved...=) Hope they stay that way...but most likely they won't...=)

Summer is so close....hurry!!!

update...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

I've done many fun things over last couple of weeks. =)

Amy graduated from UGA and moved back to DC =). Last Saturday, she and I went to see Da Vinci Code which we have been waiting to see for a while...It followed the book very closely (I like when they do that) and it was good. I've read the book so I knew what was going to happen but still it's fun to see if my imagination of the characters were similar or what not.

On Mother's Day weekend, I ran the Ovarian Cancer 5K in Reston. I "ran" into one of my friends from high school. Her parents were there too. It was good to see them. Then yesterday, Amy and I walked the Race for the Cure 5K. They had a huge turn out. I think it gets bigger every year. And guess who we saw? Condoleeza Rice on the stand by the starting line. I could say I was starstrucked. =)

After the race I came home, had lunch, and took a nap. I think I was dehydrated because I had a terrible headache afterwards.

That afternoon, I met up with Amy to see the X-Men. It was another good movie! It seems like they are making movies from comics and novels these days...

We were supposed to meet up with Tenzin for dinner after the movie but it didn't work out...I won't go into details because it irks me everytime  I think about it...

Anyways, after the movie, I was feeling not so good. Amy and I came to my house because she offered to drive me. I took some medicine and laid down for a bit. Amy graciously agreed to wait.

We went to eat at Anita's...which I haven't been to for a while...Anita's is always a good choice. =)

We hung out at Amy's house for a bit and went to Friendly's for dessert...haha guess what we had? ice cream of course! =)

It was a fun hanging out with Amy, my partner in fun! =)

The Marathon

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Yesterday, I signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon in October. It was a surreal experience...I've been thinking of running the marathon for a while and ran few ten milers so I think, with proper training, I can do well.

My summer will be filled with puppy training and marathon training...=) Work?...work is overrated...hahaha

ouch!

My body aches and it's hard to move...

I ran ten miles today and I did this without preparing myself for it...BAD IDEA! I signed up for it early in the year and had enough time to train but my lazy self prevented the other motivated self from training. Well at least I finished...I could've done better time-wise but I'm glad that I finished.

I need to start training for the marathon in October...I better stick to my training schedule!!! lazy susan-you're fired!

I always manage to be booked on a return flight to DC that gets delayed! Yesterday, my flight was delayed two hours...I finally got to DC at 12:45am. I had called Julie to come pick me up at 1am at Dulles and when I got to the pick up area around 1am...she wasn't there...so I called her and guess what she was doing...sleeping!!! ever heard of an alarm clock, julie?

Georgia was F-U-N!! We went to the new aquarium and toured the CNN building. Of course, I managed to bring the cold and rainy weather with me to Georgia and apparently I left it there!! hahaha...it's sunny in DC! =)

It was a fun filled weekend and back to reality tomorrow!! ahhh...

Happy Holidays...

Happy Holidays everyone! =)

presents start rolling in...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Well, my family do not do present exchange during Christmas. Santa, aka my parents, used to bring me presents when I was younger but it stopped when I was in first or second grade. Since then I have received nothing from my parents...and no i'm not bitter!

Anyways...you would understand a bit better about my feelings if you knew the whole story about my family.

However, today I got some presents. I got a lovely cup filled with homemade chocolates and a children' book from a student, a homemade scarf and a holiday greeting picture card from a student, and, from Amy, I got two books and a martini shaker! hehe =) Oh, and the other counselor I work with gave me a basket of stuff for my feet because she knows I run. This reminds me that i should get some little something something for people I work with...I'm not used to giving presents during this time of the year because I usually don't do it...even with friends, we rarely gave gifts...which i'm not bitter at all about because with the relationships I have with friends, I appreciate the friendships really more than the materialistic things that I may receive from them. It's always have been give and take regardless of whether it's christmas or not...however with my family...i feel like it's been more of give and give but take little.
